In consultation with Mr. Huff, a long-time favorite WLR teacher, we have made a change to the Monday schedule for our program in Rancho Cordova. The Clay & Sculpture class has been replaced with Renaissance Crafts. The Renaissance Crafts class for Grades 4-8 can be take as a 'stand-alone' class or in conjunction with Renaissance Arts, History & Culture for Grades 5-8 on the same day. In this hands-on class, students will experience crafts such as paper-making, book binding and pewter casting. For those with a strong interest in Clay, Sculpture and/or Mixed Media, please Contact Us. We may add an additional art class to either the Monday or Thursday program based on community interest. So we need to hear from you! Thank you for your input.
The WLR 2018 Fall Registration is open. All participants are required to register on the WLR website whether your student is with a charter school or you are a self-paying family. Our program is customized to homeschooling students; the registration form gives us important information about each child so that we can prepare for the class as a whole. Returning families can login and their information will be pre-populated. Please review for any changes, including current year grade level of your student. Logged in but lost? Look for your name near top of screen and click on the Dashboard: you will be able to navigate easier from the Dashboard. You can now also see the registration form names on the left-side menu. Please review information below before registering. When you click on: the Registration page will open in a new window.
The Schedule Page shows the days/times classes are offered, along with Class Fees and Teachers. The Class Descriptions pages are being updated to include the new classes. Review the descriptions to learn more about each class, including any items needed to bring to class. Ukulele students will need to bring their own instrument. WLR has a lead on low-cost or possibly free instruments and will post that information as it becomes available. A $10 or $15 Registration Fee per student is required. Be sure to check with your charter school as not all schools cover Registration Fees. If your school does cover the fee, you can choose the $15 option to have the fee billed to your school. Otherwise, choose the $10 self-pay option to cover the Registration Fee. Self-payment for the Registration Fee is due by August 24th; after the deadline, the fee will increase to $15 per student. If you have any questions about Registration, feel free to call Sandi at 916.606.0799 or contact us online. We understand that you have many choices as a homeschooling family and we are delighted that you have chosen WLR to support your choice to home educate, and to be a part of your "village." Blessings on the journey! |
